Winner of The Big Pitch 08/09 Inspired by real life case studies into the condition of multiple personality disorder the personality in control of the body changes irregularly over the course of the three days. Firstly we experience the three days from the perspective of a personality called Gray but with missing gaps in the timeline where the other personalities have control of the body. Gray represents the audience during this first act. Unbeknown to him he is a new personality who takes his first breaths in the very first scene. His is a journey of total discovery filled with missing blank periods of time after which he finds himself in inexplicable situations which threaten his very new life. In the second act the film goes back to the beginning of the three days and follows G’s personality, answering questions and posing new ones. G is paranoid to the point of paranoid-delusional. For as long as he can remember he has spent half his life unaware of what his body is doing and G has found solace in half-baked conspiracy theories which, on closer inspection, may hold the key to the truth. The third act tells the story of Graham, an everyman at the end of his tether who, in turn, revisits all of the gaps in the narrative with a fresh perspective and revelations at every turn. At the end of each act, the audience will be left with questions which will remain unanswered until the very final scene. |
